DIY Dog Bandana for DOGust!
Nature’s Advantage is celebrating DOGust all month long and what better way to celebrate than making your pup a bandana! This easy, no sew bandana is such a fun way to accessorize your pet and only takes 20 minutes to make.
Hot Glue Gun
2 hot glue sticks
¾ yard of fabric of your choice (if you have a bigger dog, plan to go bigger)
Place your fabric flat on a surface and then take a corner and fold into a triangle and cut along the edges, removing the extra fabric.
With the extra fabric, cut a 2” wide long strand. This strand will be the collar part of the bandana. Measure this piece around your dog’s neck to make sure the bandana will fit comfortably.
Lay the inside of the long strand down and take one side of the fabric and fold into the middle of the fabric. Take the other side and fold into the middle of the fabric and secure it by using hot glue.
Fold the ends of the collar piece, quarter of an inch in and secure the ends with hot glue.
Take your bandana piece and unfold so that it is in a square. Make sure the fabric is facing upward. Place the long strand across the middle (from one corner to the other) of the bandana and glue it down. Please note: be generous with the glue so it is secure.
Take the corner of the square fabric and fold over the long strand that is glued onto the fabric, and bring to the opposite corner. This should now look like a triangle.
Secure the two sides of the fabric by placing hot glue in between the edges. Make sure to leave a two inch opening near the strand. You will need to do this inorder to flip the fabric inside out.
Once the glue is dry, turn the fabric inside out. Once complete, close the gap with hot glue.
And that’s it! You will now have a DIY dog bandana for your stylish pup. Don’t forget to show us your bandana by sharing on social media and tagging us @naturesadv. Have you entered our DOGust giveaway? We are giving away some PAWsome goodies!
